My Journey to Losing 100 Pounds…
I made a decision two years ago to no longer be overweight. I was seeing people with cancer, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, heart problems, and the list goes on…I had never had any of these issues. I never had to take medications. At the time, I was having some knee pain. I knew that the pain was being caused from being so overweight. It has been a constant battle. Ups and downs, plateau after plateau. Gaining weight is easy, losing weight is the hard part.
This journey has taught me a lot about myself. I LOVE to eat (who doesn’t?) I am a stress eater, a boredom eater, emotional eater, a “I can’t control myself eater.” I am still learning about myself every day and why I eat, besides the fact that food is good and I’m a pretty fabulous cook. 🙂
What I have learned most from all of this is this: DO NOT keep junk in your home! I hear people say all the time, “My kids need their snacks & junk…they are kids.” When you have junk in your home it sets you up for the temptation to eat it. Kids learn from example. I am not saying an occasional snack or treat will hurt you, but if you make good choices with food your kids will follow in your lead. Plan out your meals. Only shop the outside of the grocery store rather than wandering mindlessly up and down aisle after aisle, throwing everything into the cart that sounds yummy (I am SO guilty of this). You will save LOADS of money- trust me!
How I did it…you can too!
My goal was to lose 100 pounds. So far, I have lost 85 and have kept it off for over a year. I have let some things sneak back in and stop my process, so I back on it, and I’m holding myself accountable through my blog.
The easiest way for me to break through a plateau during the first 85 pounds was with protein shakes. So my first week I will eat vegetables and meat- mainly fish and a little chicken. During the second week I will start on my Slique protein shakes and Slique products. I have lots of yummy Slique shake recipes I am going to share! I also take Slique oil in capsules to help curb my appetite. I don’t drink any soft drinks, but who needs soft drinks when you have Ninxgia Red! I replaced the money I was spending on soft drinks with the money I now spend on Ninxgia Red. Another big $$ saver!
It took me one year to lose 85 pounds. That averages out to 7.1 pounds a month. It should take me 8 weeks to lose the last 15 for a grand total of 100 pounds!
I will weigh in every Monday morning and take a picture of myself and will be updating my blog with the progress. Who wants to join me on this journey?! If I can do it you can do it too!
